Fashion must-haves for festival season
Festivals are back and we're all ready to dance the night away in a giant field! When we’ve past the 30s threshold, we’re over following the trends, with comfort and practicality being an important part of our outfit decisions. But let’s not take away from the glitz and glam (and maybe some mud) of a festival, you can still have fun expressing your inner party girl!
Shoes
So, let’s start from the bottom up. Footwear needs to be practical, and stylish of course. If it’s a British festival have the wellies on standby, but we also love a biker boot that won’t compromise on the desired look. If you have blue skies, you can’t go wrong with a pair of hi-top trainers!
Style
Boho, disco, or grunge? What style sings to you? If you’re a romantic then floaty floral dresses teamed with western accessories will fit the bill. Just want to party all through the day and then late into the night? Sequins teamed with every colour of the rainbow because more is more when it comes to the party scene. Or maybe you’re living the rockstar life, leather, graphic tees and distressed denim will be your festival uniform.
Accessories
This is where you can take an outfit from a picnic in the park to a festival in the fields. Layer the necklaces and bracelets, for a true Kate Moss boho Glastonbury look. Bumbags are the true icon of any festival, with so many styles and colours wrapped around your denim shorts it’s a sure-fire way to perfect the festival look.
Outerwear
Don’t let your jacket let down the rest of the outfit. You can’t go wrong with an oversized denim jacket and for something more waterproof? A sporty festival look styled with a rain mac that has neon details to stand out from the crowds.
Maxi dresses
Hands up who wants versatility! Maxi dresses are bang on trend and making their way to festivals. This is a style to wear on the beach on holiday, at a summer BBQ or dancing free in a field! We love how @catlpatterson has styled it with a cropped denim waistcoat for easy summer layering. If you're brave enough style it with sandals but we would recommend some boots or trainers with this look when deep in a festival crowd!
